1) Named patients of Dr Jarvis
Please note that patients whose previous accountable/named doctor was Dr Sarah Jarvis have now been re-allocated between our salaried doctors - Dr Jayna Kumpavat and Dr Vaidehi Hegde. Please check with reception if you wish to know who your allocated GP is. This does not affect your right to see the GP of your choice.
2) Practice training day
The practice will be having a training day on 18th May 2017 for all our staff. we will be open but will have restricted services. There will be no pre-bookable appointments and when calling the practice you will be guided by a telephone message on how to access a doctor if needed.
3) Dr Jens Foell
Due to family commitments Dr Jens Foell will be leaving the practice at the end of May 2017. Jens has been at the practice as a GP since 2010. In addition he has also been a specialist in musculoskeletal problems and pain relief. We know that many patients have appreciated his work in this area. He has also been a tutor for undergraduate medical students for many years. Jens and his family will be relocating to Wales and we would like to wish both him and his family the very wishes in their new adventure.

5) Week commencing 15th May 2017 our extended hours appointments will be changing. You will able to book an appointment on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening between 18.30 and 19.30. Extended opening is available for all patients to book a routine appointment outside the usual GP practice opening hours.
We now have a practice pharmacist employed who can perform medication reviews and other checks like pill check rather than having to wait for a GP appointment. Appointments can be made either by ringing the surgery or by booking an online appointment

- Pill/contraception review
- Appointments regarding a medication/prescription query
The pharmacist is still gaining experience & is therefore unable to review the following and if you need this, please book an appointment with a GP as usual.
- Mental Health reviews
- Cancer care reviews
- Pregnant women
- Children, young adults under 21
- Palliative care reviews
- Patients wanting to start a new medication

Book Appointments On-Line
We are pleased to announce a new on-line booking system and improved repeat prescribing service. Please download the Systm One Online Services Registration Form and bring it to the surgery with photo-id. We will then issue you with a unique login name and password. This service is NOT available to under 16's

During 2016 we have changed our appointment system. You can now book an appointment 4 weeks in advance and the on the day appointments can now be booked from 0815 for both morning and afternoon appointments
You wanted more appointments in the evenings and at weekends........we introduced an evening clinic, saturday morning surgery and a pre-bookable early morning telephone clinic.
You wanted more flexibility in our appointment system...............we reviewed our system against neighbouring practices and changed the balance between pre-bookeable and bookeble on the day. We have also increased capacity in the afternoons.

Friends and Family Test
We are dedicated to improving the treatment you receive at our practice. The new Friends and Family Test asks you to complete a quick survey. If we have your mobile number you will receive a text message after your next visit and you can text your responses to the survery questions. Care Quality Commission Richford Gate rated as 'GOOD'
We are very grateful to members of our patient group and many other patients who gave of their time to meet Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) on Wednesday 1st October. The report has been published and can be read in full by clicking HERE.
Contraception and Sexual Health Services
We offer a full range of contraceptive services here at Richford Gate. Clinics are run at flexible times including evenings and saturdays. Please note that the clinics include smears, pregnancy testing as well as a full range of contractive services. Please click HERE for full details.
